Shipley has over 25 years of experience successfully teaching adults in various vocational fields. He formerly directed an adult education program and has earned the reputation as an excellent communicator and trainer. His primary areas of expertise are mathematics, grammar, reading comprehension, and precision measurement. A successful businessman, Shipley (MA, Arkansas State University) and his wife are the long-time owners/operators of the most prominent bookstore in the region.
